Privacy Policy
Westmere Private Hire is a sole-trader business operated by Nikodem Krajnyk, trading as Westmere Private Hire. Our registered business address is 4 Fisher Street, Lewes, East Sussex, BN7 2DG (c/o NetWerks). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data We Collect
- Booking details: Name, phone number, email, pickup and destination addresses, date and time of travel, flight numbers (where relevant), and vehicle preferences.
- Payment data: Card payments are processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment providers — we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Technical data: Basic web analytics (page views, device type, referrer) to understand how visitors use our website.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To confirm, fulfil and invoice your private hire journey.
- To contact you regarding your booking (pickup confirmations, delays, changes).
- To respond to enquiries and complaints.
- To comply with our legal and licensing obligations as a private hire operator.
3. Lawful Basis
We process booking data under "contract" (to provide the service you requested) and under "legitimate interests" where we need to communicate with you about the journey. Marketing communications — where applicable — are only sent with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Sharing Your Data
We share the minimum necessary information with the driver assigned to your journey. We do not sell your data. We may share data with law enforcement or regulatory bodies where legally required, including our licensing authority.
5. How Long We Keep It
Booking records are retained for up to six years to meet tax, accounting and licensing requirements. After this, they are securely deleted.
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@westmere.co.uk.
7. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal data, including encrypted transmission and access controls on our booking systems.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
